VISION
We wish to speak with culture to our audience and to using our music and merchandise to have “real talk”: fusing high frequency production and lyricism to raise the vibrations of our audiences over the world..
MISSION
Our mandate is to educate and (inner) attain (i.e. entertain) our audiences about local, global, and social justice issues by fusing hip-hop lyricism, reggae deejaying, and avant-garde instrumentals.
GOAL
We are committed to using our artistic platform to affect change and create opportunities for racialized and
marginalized youth in our society.
When silence is consent, speaking the truth is dissent.
SPEAKING TO THE GLOBE
CAUTION: HEAVY MENTAL MUSIC
2019/2020 ALBUM RELEASE
Zion Horizon’s debut LP Speaking To The Globe, Volume 1 is not just a musical movement but also an educational one. Our mandate is to educate and (inner) attain—i.e entertain—our audience about social justice issues of a local and international nature. We use our music and voices to speak truth to power in order to highlight issues affecting our youth such as racism, miseducation, health and wellness, poverty, self-esteem, food security, politics, and much more. Furthermore, in addition to the music, we are committed to using our artistic platform to affect change and create opportunities for racialized and marginalized youth in our society. When silence is consent, speaking the truth is dissent.

Who is ZionHorizon?
Zion Horizon is a Toronto-based nascent musical movement comprised of three (3) dynamic, versatile and multilingual (English, French, Jamaican Patois, Haitian Creole) emcees. Sonically, the ZionHorizon musical footprint contains elements of hip hop, reggae, jazz, zouk, kompa and afro-percussive rhythms. Layering atop these soundscapes are thoughtful, well-informed and skillful lyrical concoctions. Their brand of music is “3rd ear” or “Heavy Mental” music—i.e. music that provokes the mind and the waistline at the same time.
Malik I.M. aka Sun Toucha, is a Toronto-born emcee/reggae deejay of Jamaican/Antiguan descent. His insightful lyrics and memorable punchlines routinely have the listener exercising the rewind-button and the DJ ‘wheeling’ the track. Le Nomad MC, is a Montreal-born emcee/griot of Haitian/Cuban descent. His versatile flow goes from incisive salvos to undulating harmonies as he toggles seamlessly between emcee, ‘sing-jay’ and singer. Rounding out the group is the Georgetown (Guyana)-born and Kingston (Jamaica) –raised DJ GQ. He is a musical chameleon whose patois-infused verses are matched by flawlessly-sung hooks and captivating ad-libs.
